Stella adler studio of acting la reviews
I know that back when Stella was alive, this school was extraordinary. I just want to make sure that this will not be money down the drain ($3,500 for tuition). I am currently studying at a university, pursuing degrees in Drama and Film. That's the school you'll want to work with if you're set on the Adler Technique.Should I attend the Stella Adler Studio's summer conservatory? Someone already said "The Art Of Acing Institute", which was formed by a number of NY Stella Adler academy teachers, is better known here in LA for their training of Adler's work. Stella Adler, on the other hand, is all about her technique. So you'll learn a little about everything, and not a lot of depth on anything. But like NYFA, it's not steeped in any particular acting discipline. AADA is a well known conservatory with a better reputation than it's closest competitor, The New York Film Academy. Do they value it over your individual ability to do the work? No, but it can definitely open a door for you.Īs for the two choices. So yeah, many of them know it very clearly. One in particular studied directly with Adler and worked on Broadway before making the move to LA. I know a number of them who've studied in NY with the most prestigious schools before heading to LA for their careers.
This is one of the reasons agents attend showcases for graduates of these programs.Īnd yes, many agents and CDs with long careers in this industry DO know very well. With no other credits on your resume, this shows to others in the industry that you are committed to your craft, and actually put work (and money) towards it. The most 'reputable' aspect of committing to a 2 year training program is that you completed it. r/Theatre /r/Shakespeare /r/VoiceActing /r/RecordThis /r/TechTheatre /r/MusicalTheatre /r/TheArtifice /r/ScenesfromAHat /r/ActingNerds Offer your advice with imagination, honesty, and empathy.
